Previous Issues: The Avengers and the Champions have foiled Nefaria's plans to take away the powers of all super powered beings on Earth. A mysterious stranger has escaped from A.I.M. and now has the Silver Surfer hunting him down. Finally, Fast Forward had a strange meeting with Hermes.
Access is walking through the suburbs of Los Angeles. "This energy trail has an alternating frequency. I'm having trouble following the trail. I have to find him before he is captured again. Ares was able to hide him from me last time. It won't happen again."
"Quit talkin' to yourself loser. And buy some clothes that match." A bystander and his lady friend laugh.
"He had to land in LA. I hate LA!" Access thinks to himself.
The Champions are in a quinjet they borrowed from the Avengers. They are heading home.
"It was nice of Captain America to loan us this Quinjet." Firebird says as she sits down.
"Yeah it sure was. But I really have to apologize to you guys for what happened. I shouldn't have let my insecurities get to me." Rachel lowers her head unable to look at the others.
"Bah! Woman, thou hast apologized more than thou hath needed to. No one holds thee responsible for thy actions. Mentallo mindcontrolled thee."
"Yeah, but not a whole lot. He just pushed a little at my insecurities."
"Sometimes that's the most effective form of mind control. We wouldn't see any major changes and you would just think you were worrying a little more than usual." Natasha says as she tries to comfort Rachel.
"Plus, you were integral in saving the world. If we had not gotten involved Nefaria's plans may have gone on unnoticed. Think of all the things he had Already done without anyone noticing." Firebird adds. (She is of course talking about Champions 25-28 and Avengers 433-435 - Crossover Happy Baloo)
"Only because of those new diamonds I have. I still wish I knew where they came from."
"Thou doth not know? Zeus gave them to thee for saving my life. Hermes was ordered to give thee magical diamonds." Hercules responds.
"How many different diamonds do I have?"
"Not many, but thou canst pull out the diamond that thy needeth without searching."
The Gatherer's Vision can be seen on a viewscreen in a hidden A.I.M. lair. "I'm at the spot our energy source was last seen."
"Thou must findeth this man. I must have his power!" Ares says. "Be careful, the Champions are on their way home and may find some way to interfere."
"I hope they do. I feel stronger since you cured me of my disease (He was last seen in pretty bad shape in the Vision mini-series - Baloo-bonic Plague). I won't mind testing my abilities against these Champions. I also wouldn't mind settling an old score with Hercules and the Black Widow (They were both Avengers during the Gatherers storyline over in the Avengers - Baloo in the Face).
The Silver Surfer is entering the atmosphere. "I can see you now villain. I won't be tricked by you again."
The Silver Surfer heads straight for a figure flying over a small town just a few miles south of Los Angeles.
Fast Forward is quickly approaching the same small town. "I wonder why Hermes wanted me to come here. I don't see how this will help me get my memory back. What's that up in the sky?"
Looking up Fast Forward sees the Silver Surfer flying straight at another flying figure. With the way the sun is, it is hard to make out who the other person is. But something is familiar about him.
Back to the Champions (hey it is their book). Ant-Man looks at the message on the console of the quinjet. "Guys, the Silver Surfer has been spotted just south of Los Angeles. I think we should get over there right away. People don't usually treat the Surfer as the hero he is. He might need our help."
"Good idea Scott. Let's go." Natasha says.
"Zese should be fun, non?" Batroc smiles. The sarcasm in his voice is not lost on his teammates.
The Silver Surfer is only a hundred feet from our mystery guest (you know that guy who keeps showing up but I won't tell you he is - Baloo Devil).
"I don't know why you've come back here, but I won't allow your mad dreams to come true!" The Silver Surfer screams.
"What are you talking about? I've never seen you before."
"Don't lie to me. You duped me. All the while you were being tricked by Thanos."
"Who's Thanos?"
The Silver Surfer shoots a blast of the Power Cosmic and hits the flying figure square in the chest. The figure moves to protect himself.
On the ground A.I.M. troops come flying out of trucks. The A.I.M. agents take up positions on the ground around the two combatants. "What is the Silver Surfer doing here?" yells Shelton.
Just then the Quinjet carrying the Champions flies into view. "Eet eez a good idea zat we came." Batroc says.
As Batroc finishes his sentence, the Gatherer's Vision flies up through the floor of the Quinjet. "Howdy folks. Have a nice landing."
By flying through the Quinjet, the Gatherer's Vision has disrupted the delicate electronic gear in the Quinjet. Batroc can no longer control the Quinjet. The Quinjet crashes into the ground.
Fast Forward comes upon the small town.
What the Hell is going on here? How did everyone know we were going to be here?" Shelton asks no one in particular. "What the.."
Just then Access appears on the ground next to Fast Forward. "I was hoping to get here before anyone else. But now I may be too late." Access looks to the sky.
The man fighting the Silver Surfer is hit with the full force of the Silver Surfer's power cosmic. He goes crashing down to the ground right next to Fast Forward.
"Barry?" The figure says.
"Hal?" Fast Forward responds.
Next Issue: Our mystery guest is revealed for those of you who don't know
who Hal is. Come on you know who it is. You just don't want to
believe it.

I have two things to say:
1) Please don't spoil the surprise ending here for anyone. If you post a review of this story please leave out the name of the mystery guest. I have worked hard to keep the GL surprise from getting leaked.
2) The plans for this book have changed drastically. Originally I had planned to have Hal Jordan join the team. He was no longer in the DC Universe and therefore was fair game. I got approval from Van on the matter so I thought it would work out fine. Unfortunately, things changed. What changed? Faux DC came into being. TJ Burns wanted to use Hal Jordan for his Green Lantern book. I didn't feel right saying he couldn't use him. TJ was really cool about this story. So TJ and I have worked out some plans for where Hal has been and how he gets back to the DC Faux universe. Hal will be around for a little while, so enjoy him while he's here. So I'd like to thank TJ for helping me with this storyline and for letting me use the character for as long as I will. It's too bad though. The Champions would have been Black Widow, Hercules, Ant-Man, Firebird, Diamondback, Batroc, and Hal Jordan. Hopefully, TJ and I can work out another crossover in the future. However, if I had acted selfishly and said that Hal Jordan was mine, the MV1 and Faux DC could never crossover. And that would be a very bad thing.
