He completed his first test of the process, on himself, in 1929. Instead of turning his results over to the world, he decided to keep the process a secret and use it for his own ends. As Hitler gained power in Germany Brandeau approached him and offered to use the procss on him in return for support for his research. Hitler agreed, but later found that the process would stop aging, but not a bullet. After World War 2 Brandeau went into hiding. He conducted his various research projects in secret locations - Third World Counties, South American Hideouts, and an old research station in the Alaskan wilderness. In 1973 Brandeau came across a 16th century ship's log that mentioned a mist shrouded island in the Atlantic Ocean overrun with giant lizards and hirsute elephants. It took him 3 years to lacate the Forbidden Island, and immeadeatly recognized as the perfect long-term base of operations. He hired a ship laden with supplies and a crew of one, Captain Sergio Vespucci. Upon arrival at the island, Brandeau had the captain assist him in setting up the lodge and laboratory, then subdued him and caged him in the laboratory for experimentation. Brandeau had intended to keep the ship as a means of leaving the island when he was ready, but the ship was destroyed by an unknown undersea creature, possibly a Giant Squid. In seclusion on the island Brandeau quickly made progress in his study of genetic engineering. Sergio became the first experiment, his DNA was merged with that of a black leopard, while the experiment was successful the doctor found Sergio had become uncontrollable, and released him into the forest. Subsequent experiments were made with the primitive humans living on the island, and were much more controllable. Dr. Brandeau does have access to a radio in his laboratory, and if all else fails he will use it to contact former associates and have them send enforcers and transport.
