Origin and Background: (Kung Fu Demon) Thunderin' Barry Tseng was on top of the world. He had everything going for him -- He was a multi-millionaire who happen to live at 'the centre of the earth' (i.e. Hong Kong). Tseng also contolled the vast and influencial 'Lucky Eight Rubies' Triad, but he wanted more. He studied the ancient scrolls for any potential edge over his competitors -- even a supernatural one.
These studies would often lead to blasphemous rituals of morbid depravity. The fateful night would not be the exception. Surrounded by his hand-picked men, Thunderin' Barry Tseng begins by leading the chant. A black sticky darkness begins to fill the room as the triad mooks continue to chant their arcane incantations. The inky darkness smoothers the ritual with its oppressive gloominess. A pale white man with a sinister smile and two equally evil-looking daggers walks out of the ebony cloud.
Tseng quickly commands the demon to do his bidding. The demon laughs as he rips through the surrounding triad goons. His laughter echoes through the room as the demon chops and stabs his way through the helpless gangsters. The only person who does put up a fight is the Triad Boss, Thunderin' Barry Tseng. The fight is a firece one but is quickly over. Thunderin' Barry Tseng dies while cursing his demon, Gwailo (literally means "ghost man", often used to discribe foreigners) and while watching his innards ooze across the floor.
Gwailo now travels the world (he prefers Pan-Asiatic area, especially China and Japan) in his search to find new pleasures in the deaths of as many humans as he can. He cares little for the human species and wants to kill as many as he can until he finds his way back home (to the Netherworld).
