Origin and Background: (British) Cedric Black is one of the world's top media moguls. His multi-national corporation controls newspapers, television networks, and even a few communication satellites. This wasn't enough for Cedric Black. He wanted much more than mere temporal power and wealth. He wanted the ultimate control over life and death itself.
When he heard a rumour of an ancient book that would grant such power to its reader, Cedric sent his agents throughout the world to find it. After many years, and much expense, one of his agents found the legendary De Vermiis Mysteriis. Finally his quest was over. Once he had the book in his hands, he began to read the chaotic rantings found therein. As he read, his mind began to swirl with madness as the incantation began to change him. The frail thin body of Cedric Black was replaced by the powerful, demonic form of Hellfire.
As Hellfire, Cedric Black still controls his multi-national corporation (the world believes Black has become a recluse since he doesn't make any personal appearances anymore) but has also set up a shadow company to expand his interests into humanity's darker desires. His Order of the Shadow Dawn have their fingers in every vice and criminal interests known to man. He prefers to be a manipulator of events as oppose to a villain who goes and robs banks himself. But he has been known on occassion to get his hands dirty when the situation called for it.
